My hometown is Sokcho. Sokcho has very beautiful nature.
For example, sea-beach-, Mountain and even see the North Korea.
Sokcho near the north Korea, so very dangerous.
I'm very worried, because My grandmother live there.
I hope we can reunite soon.

Although Korea is a small peninsula and divided, it is a important position for trade, history and so on.
Korea has not only beautiful nature but human resource.
Korea traditional food is Kimchi, Bulgogi and so on.
Most of Korea introduction, intruduced about history, and food.
so I will introduce about Korea's hollidays.

Seol(1st of Feb.-1st of Jan. in Asian calendar)
This festive day is very important for Korean people and is the biggest holiday because it is the first day of the new year in Asian Calendar year. All Korean people eat Ddukguk made of rice cake. This is similar to soup.

Jung-wol-dae-borum(15th of Feb.-15th of Jan. in Asian calendar)
In other words, Deaborum. it means big full moon. The Moon rises for the first time in new year. There is several special events. Korean people eat walnuts or peanuts in hopes of casting away skin disease on this day.
Hansik(5th of April)Han means 'cool' or 'cold'. sik means food. So in other words, Hansik means a day when people eat cold or cool food. This day is noted as the beginning of the agricultural affair.
Dano(4th of Jun.-5th of May. in Asian calendar)
This day is when people pray for good fortune towards agricultural affair. Women swing on swings "Guneh"and usually on this day Men usually are engaged in Korea wrestling, "Ssi-rumm"
Yoodu(14th of Jul.-15th of Jun. in Asian calendar)
This day is a refreshing cleansing day, people wash their hair and bathe themselves. People usually eat foods made of flour for example, kuksu-NOODLE.

Chilwol-chilsuk(4th Aug.-7th of July in Asian calendar)
There is a very famous story in Korea, it is called "Kyunwoo and Jiknyo" On chilwolchilsuk, Kyunwoo returns to meet Jiknyo. On this day, You can see the stars of Kyunwoo and Jiknyo shining brightly above.

Chusuk(11st of Sep.-15th of Aug. in Asian calendar)
Chusuk is in the middle of the year, the middle of August and a very big day. Now "Sul" and "Chu Suk" are recognized as the two big holidays in Korea.

Jungyang day(4th of Oct.-9th of Sep. in Asian calendar)
It has been a custom for many years during Jungyang day that Koreans decorated their homes with maple leaves and often hike up mountains to taking in the beautiful scenery, refreshing themselves with a wine made from chrysanthemum, this is a time for Nature being at it*s best. Also, the chrysanthemum wine is often giving as a present to friends during this joyous occasion. Besides the chrysanthemum wine, many families cook a grilled food made with chrysanthemum.

Dongji(22nd of Dec.)
On this day, Korean People eat a red bean gruel, this is to cast away evil spirits...This day is when the day is shortest through in the year.

I live in south Korea, and high school student. Also I'm a member of VANK.

VANK is a non-governmental organization and also a voluntary organization.VANK consists of elementary, middle and high school students who provide correct information about Korea to international textbook publishing companies and publishers.

Actually, I'm 12th grade, so I'm very busy.
But because of my dream -that is my aim : deplomatic officer- I don't give up this work. As a PRkorea ambbassader, I'll try to let foreigners know the Korea.
